“Capiz State University Research, Development and Extension Conducts its 33rd Annual In-House Review and 36th Annual Symposium”

Faculty researchers and extensionists gathered from all the campuses and satellite colleges of CAPSU to present their researches in the 33rd Annual University RDE In-House Review and the 36th Annual University RDE Symposium with the theme “Breaking Barriers: Research Development, and Innovations Amidst the New Normal” last June 22-23 which took place in a digital platform.

The event was spearheaded by the University Research Director Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar and facilitated by the RDE staff along with selected faculty members across all satellite colleges and campuses.

The event started with a warm welcome from the Vice President for RDE Dr. Efren L. Linan followed by messages from the Division Chief Human Resource and Institution Development of PCIEERD Dr. Ruby Ratera and the Overall PCIEERD Regional Consortia Coordinator Mr. Ruel A. Pili.

The guest speakers Dr. Ratera and Mr. Ruel, opened up the PCIEERD roadmap, recommendations, programs, grants, call for papers, scholarships, and other opportunities to the faculty and staff of CAPSU.

The PCIEERD speakers encouraged the researchers from the field of industry, energy, emerging technologies, and special concerns which branch out into multiple disciplines.

The disciplines/categories within the said event were social science, natural/biological, food research, developmental/engineering, and extension category; each of which is aimed at improving the quality of life of the Capizeños and the institution itself.

Despite the pandemic and a lack of face-to-face interaction, the program was delivered successfully using multiple digital tools that could give an ease-of-access on the end of the facilitators (e.g. sorting of files, video conference hosting, online workspace, etc.).
