To continuously nurture the Intellectual Property (IP) Awareness of the faculty of Capiz State University (CAPSU), the Capiz State University – Intellectual Property Management Office (CAPSU-IPMO) conducted the Intellectual Property Basics on March 3-4, 2021.

The topics include 1) the IP and the academe; 2) trademarks; 3) innovator’s mindset; 4) copyright and other related rights 5) patents, utility models and industrial design.

The resource persons of the said activity were 1) Prof. Mark Glenn F. Villamor, IPMO Director; 2) Engr. Monalyn L. Oloroso, Research Chair of Burias Campus; 3) Prof. Princess Lydia S. Fuentes, IPMO Chair of Dayao Satellite College; and 4) Engr. Julito A. Albaladejo, IPMO Chair of Burias Campus.

In his message, Engr. Efren L. Linan, VP for Research, Development and Extension (RDE) emphasizes that Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) including Capiz State University (CAPSU) were mandated by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to adopt the IP policies that would govern the use and creation of Intellectual Property (IP) to safeguard the intellectual creations of the learning institution and its employees and to adopt a locally-established industry practice fair use guidelines and one way to adopt these policies is by conducting Intellectual Property (IP) Basics Awareness.In his message, Engr. Efren L.
