Capiz State University has been recognized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) as the Top Utility Registrant from 2017 to 2021 and Second Place – Top ITSO Filer from 2016 to 2021 as part of its 25th Anniversary Celebration with the theme Rising at 25: Creating a Silver Bright Future last June 6, 2022. The awards were received by Prof. Mark Glenn F. Villamor, IPMO Director, on behalf of Dr. Editha C. Alfon, University President.
The IP Citations awarded to CAPSU were in recognition of the University’s significant contributions in boosting the creation, protection, commercialization, and enforcement of Intellectual Property (IP) rights in the country.


In recognition of the undying commitment to excellence, Dr. Editha C. Alfon, University President, Dr. Efren L. Linan, VP for RDE, Prof. Mark Glenn F. Villamor, IPMO Director and Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, University Research Director are beyond proud and honored with the efforts and dedication of all faculty-researchers of the University, especially to CAPSU Dayao Satellite College for having the most registered Utility Models.
These awards are also symbols of the passion and commitment of the CAPSU – IPMO Team, IPMO Chairpersons and staff, Experts in Patent Search and Patent Drafting – Engr. Julito A. Albaladejo, Engr. Monalyn L. Oloroso, Engr. Marilyn L. Bernabe, and Prof. Princess Lydia S. Fuentes.
