February 14, 2023 – To show oneness support against all forms of discrimination and violence, Capiz State University, Roxas City Main Campus danced in unison the One Billing Rising (OBR) global movement song, a call to end Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) at CAPSU Dadivas Gymnasium today.

This yearly gesture of solidarity is a worldwide dance-strike to demand an end to the systemic oppression and violence that more than one billion women and children have to endure.

On Valentine’s day, students, faculty and staff from the different departments of this University gathered and took part in not only showcasing their dance moves but also expressing their strong support to stop all kinds of inequality and mistreatment against women and children.

This year calls on the local community and the world to rise for freedom — freedom from patriarchy, misogyny, division, oppression, exploitation, and control of women and children. This movement calls for the protection of women and children, helping them heal after abuse, and empowering them as they recover and rise above the challenges.
