Capiz State University’s Quality Management System has been recommended for continued certification to ISO 9001:2015.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) audit took place from December 13-15 with SOCOTEC Auditors, led by Mr. Arcel Andres, together with Mr. Mark Allan Balbarino, and Mr. Mark Anthony Ilagan conducting a series of perusal of documented information and in-person interview to the representatives of audited work areas and offices in the Central Administration and select campuses and satellite colleges.
During the exit conference today, Mr. Andres delivered four positive feedbacks: (1) the University’s commendable performance in various licensure examinations, particularly, students being placed as topnotchers; (2) the University’s notable achievement as one of the Top 5 State Universities with the highest number of programs accredited at a high level; (3) the University’s Research, Development and Extension (RDE) online systems have proven to be a great help in simplifying the process of doing business and ensure the confidentiality as well as the protection of property; and (4) the very satisfactory rating received by the University from its clients.
Likewise, the auditors underscored eight Opportunities for Improvements (OFIs), ten observations to be addressed internally, with zero minor and major non-conformity.
Dr. Editha C. Alfon, CAPSU President, delivered an address extending her profound gratitude to the SOCOTEC Auditors and Ms. Ingrid Manglapus, CAPSU’s Consultant, for their hard work and fair assessment of the University’s operations.
“Close monitoring, hard work, and all efforts have paid off, but human as we are, we falter,” Dr. Alfon said. “We admit we have shortcomings. Ten observations that needs improvement but we stand heads up willing to correct our shortcomings.”
Furthermore, Dr. Alfon also expressed her sincere appreciation to everyone who made the audit a very successful one.
“I would like to commend the efforts of our University officials, the four vice presidents, the three campus administrators, the six satellite directors, the directors, Dr. Matilde Perez, Dr. Doreen Ata-al, the campuses ISO auditors, our faculty and staff, stakeholders, and students for their dedication and commitment devoted to everybody’s awareness on continual improvements in our day-to-day operations.”
“I congratulate all of you for boosting the trust of our clients, costumers, and partners. Let the results of this audit further inspire us to strive in doing our best, and sustain continual improvements in rendering quality services to all.”
Addressing the ISO auditors, “Rest assured our dear ISO auditors that we will heed all your recommendations to further improve our quality management system which is already in place. We have to sustain doing quality services to all. Merry Christmas! Basta CAPSU, dekalidad ang serbisyo!” Dr. Alfon exclaimed as she concludes her message.
