With the notion of extending programs towards the preservation and nurturing of our culture, the Cultural Mapping of Panay and Guimaras, headed by the University of the Philippines- Visayas and Capiz State University (CapSU) and in partnership with the Province of Capiz commenced the Cultural Mapping of Capiz.

Last January 11, 2024, an orientation of the Capiz Cultural Mapping of Capiz took place at the Capiz Provincial Capitol, Hall of the Governor. Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Project leader and Research Director of CapSU, presented the project. Present in this endeavor are the Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office (PTCAO) staff alongside Mr. Alphonsus Tesoro, Local Consultant of the said project and Department head of the PTCAO and the Municipal Tourism Officers of each Municipality and City in Capiz, who, at the end of the orientation, gave their commitment and support towards the project’s success.
