The Capiz State University- Research, Development and Extension (CAPSU-RDE) Office, through one of its research centers, the Crop Science Research Center, has inked a Memorandum of Agreement(MOA) with Cogon Hills Integrated Farm to collaborate on the production of Cacao and other agricultural products. The MOA signing ceremony took place on September 05, 2024, at the university’s Central Boardroom, Roxas City, Capiz.

The MOA signing was done between CAPSU as represented by Dr. Editha C. Alfon, SUC President III, together with Dr. Efren L. Linan, Vice-President for RDE. While the Cogon Hills is represented by Dr. Rose Marie N. Conlu, its owner. Other key officials of the University, Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, University Research Director, Prof. Jocelyn S. Legaspi, University Extension Director, Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi, CSRDC Director, Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, Campus Administrator of CAPSU-Burias, Engr. Monalyn Oloroso, Engr. Arlyn C. Olmo, and Engr. Marilyn L. Bernabe, CAPSU-Burias faculty members, were also present during the event.

CAPSU, with experts in agriculture, agricultural engineering, and food technology, will provide technical assistance to Cogon Hills Integrated Farm in farming, production, and value-adding of its Cacao and other agricultural products.

The collaboration will foster knowledge exchange and innovation in the agricultural sector. Through this partnership, both parties aim to promote sustainable agriculture, improve local livelihoods, and contribute to the economic development of the Province of Capiz.
