Dr. Efren L. Linan received a heartwarming welcome as he takes the helm of presidency today, September 9, 2024.

Dr. Linan, who was elected as the 4th President of the Capiz State University (CAPSU) last Sept. 3, was overjoyed with the joyous welcome that took place at the Roxas City Main Campus’ Dadivas Gym attended by university key officials, family members, campus administrators and satellite college directors, faculty members, and students.

In his first presidential address, Dr. Linan presented his vision, mission, goals, targets and commitment for the CAPSU community. “As your new university president, my plans for Capiz State University are encapsulated in my vision, and that is to become a leading university of academic excellence and innovation for future ready communities,” Dr. Linan said. “I envision our university as a beacon of academic distinction, renowned for its unwavering commitment to instruction, research, and community engagement’” he added.

Dr. Linan’s agenda is summarized into acronym IMPACT: Institutionalization of relevant research and innovation; Melioration of production enterprise development for sustainability; Progressive management and steward leadership; Advancement of excellence through international program and configuration; Contextualization of inclusive instruction and training; Transformation of responsive extension programs and significant local and global linkages.

He also presented his 5-year roadmap plan, innovation ecosystem development framework and the enhancement of niche programs offered by respective campuses and satellite colleges.

Dr. Linan guaranteed the academic community that he will keep track all the plans that he presented, and looks forward to the next presidential addresses so that he will be able to present on what has been committed on his plans. In his closing message, he encouraged the CAPSU community and stakeholders to work together towards the transformation of CAPSU into an innovation university.
