Dr. Efren L. Linan met with local media practitioners and social media influencers in his first press conference as University President.
This activity aimed to strengthen the university’s relationship with the press and share Dr. Linan’s plans and aspirations as the 4th President of Capiz State University.
The said event, organized in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Capiz took place in the Central Administration Boardroom at the CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus.
Dr. Linan extended his profound gratitude to the attendees for answering the university’s invitation, “I believe that this is one of the most important events as I start my journey as the fourth university president of CAPSU. It is always one of my advocacies to foster transparency. So, with this press conference that I [envision to hold] once a year, or even most often, will help us promote transparency in managing CAPSU,” he said in his opening message.
Dr. Linan took the opportunity to present his vision, mission, and plans for the university which are all anchored in the acronym R.I.S.E. [CAPSU]: Relevant Research, Inclusive Education, Sustainable Production and Extension for Enterprise Development. He willingly answered the questions raised by the members of the press present in the event.
Present also during the press conference were other CAPSU key officials including Dr. Wennie F. Legario, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages; Dr. Susan O. Dangan, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Rossandrew B. Villaruel, University Sports Director; Atty. Vincent D. Cerado, Executive Secretary; and Atty. Toche Vic B. Doce, Attorney IV.
Members of the local media coming from the different radio stations and newspaper agencies, as well as social media influencers and vloggers from the Capiz Content Creators Society (CCCS), were elated to participate in this gathering.
