Capiz State University entered a partnership with California-based nonprofit Wadhwani Foundation in a bid to boost entrepreneurial education in Capiz.
The MOU signing took place at the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U) on September 26, 2024.
CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan and Dr. Ian Arcega, dean of the College of Management (CM) at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus represented this university while Mr. Rajeev Warrier, Executive VP of Entrepreneurship and Mr. Lucrecio D. Delgado, Jr., Regional Director of the Wadhwani Foundation Southeast Asia represented the Wadhwani Operating Foundation.
Wadhwani Operating Foundation is a public benefit corporation. The foundation’s primary mission is to accelerate economic development in multiple emerging economies through large-scale initiatives in entrepreneurship, small business growth, innovation, and skilling.
Also present during the MOU signing were Dr. Ian Arcega, Dean of the College of Management of the Roxas City Main Campus and Director for Student Affairs and Services; Dr. Marien Laureto, University Director for National and International Affairs; Mr. Mark Glenn Villamor, University Planning Officer IV and IPMO Director; Prof. Maricar Eyao, Program Chair for the Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship at CM; Ms. Angelica Añabeza, Senior Associate at the Wadhwani Operating Foundation; along with other faculty members from CM.
With this milestone agreement, it is hoped the Capiz State University can strengthen academic programs, support faculty development and innovation, and students’ entrepreneurial aspirations.
