The Capiz State University’s Research, Development, and Extension (CAPSU-RDE) Office is making strides toward the internationalization of its research and extension programs through the recently concluded activity entitled Strategizing Internationalization of CAPSU-Research and Extension Programs held at at the CAPSU-Central Board Room, Roxas City, Capiz on October 03, 2024.
The said event aimed towards understanding the fundamentals of international research and community development, forging linkages for research and publication with ASEAN partners, and aligning CAPSU-RDE’s programs with the vision of the university president, Dr. Efren L. Linan, to streamline the university’s internationalization and global partnerships.
Ms. Jennifer Montero, Regional Manager of the Camosun College in British Columbia, Canada, serves as the Resource person. Ms. Montero shared her expertise and experiences in gaining the trust and confidence of international partners. She also discussed potential areas for collaboration, such as joint research projects, student exchange programs, and faculty development initiatives, in terms of the research and extension initiatives of the university. Ms. Montero explored leveraging CAPSU’s expertise and resources to make a global impact.
The activity was attended by the key officials of the university, headed by the University President, Dr. Efren L. Linan; Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, OIC for RDE; Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, VP for External Affairs and Linkages; Dr. Marien A. Laureto, Director for National and International Affairs; Prof. Jocelyn S. Legaspi, University Extension Director; and the Campus Administrators and Satellite Colleges Directors. Student leaders from the campuses were also present, wherein they played a pivotal role by providing valuable insights from a student’s perspective.
CAPSU-RDE hopes to improve its research capacities, broaden its knowledge base, and aid in developing communities in the Province of Capiz, the ASEAN region, and beyond by fortifying its international partnerships and impact.
