To enhance the technical writing ability of its faculty and researchers, the Capiz State University-Research, Development, and Extension Office(CAPSU-RDE) recently conducted a two-day seminar workshop on Technical Writing for Publication held last October 16-17, 2024.
The activity had a parallel session consisting of two groups: The Natural/Biological Research group with Dr. Edison D. Macusi, an Associate Professor V from Davao Oriental State University and the Editor-In-Chief of the Davao Research Journal, as the resource speaker which was held at the Conference Room, CAPSU-Main Campus. The Social Science, Food, and Developmental/Engineering group was under Dr. Fernan P. Tupas, Director for Communications and International Collaborations of Northern Iloilo State University, as the resource speaker.
The first day of the seminar workshop laid a solid foundation, covering technical writing principles, effective research paper structuring, proper source citation, and plagiarism avoidance. The second day was dedicated to the practical application of these principles, empowering the participants to review and submit their research outputs to their target journals with a higher probability of acceptance.
The workshop’s primary goal is to equip the faculty members and researchers of the university with the necessary skills and information to develop and produce top-notch technical publications. These publications aim to meet the rigorous scholarly standards of refereed and Scopus-indexed research journals and motivate participants to strive for excellence in their research publications, resulting in impactful research outputs that foster innovation, meaningful extension services, and sustainable future-ready communities.
