The Capiz State University (CAPSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine National Volunteerism Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA) on October 22, 2024 at the Boardroom of the Central Administration at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Donald James D. Gawe, CESO III, Executive Director of PPNVSCA and Dr. Efren L. Linan, CAPSU SUC President III. The partnership aims to establish the relationship between the two institution in mainstreaming volunteerism in the academe.
Witnessing this significant event were Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages; Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, OIC for Research Development and Extension; Prof. Jocelyn S. Legaspi, University Extension Director; Dr. Salvacion J. Legaspi, University Center Director for Crop Science, Research and Development; Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, Burias Campus Administrator; Dr. Jennifer P. Benliro, Pilar Satellite College Director; Mrs. Hermelisa A. Ochon, University Chief Administrative Officer for Administration; Dr. Cherry Anne M. Deang, University Budget Officer; Dr. Mary Jean L. Arroyo, Board Secretary V; Dr. Hazel D. Joaquin, Dean of the College of Education (COED), Roxas City Main Campus; Prof. Polansky Pinky A. Barrientos, University Director for Socio-Cultural Services; Dr. Susan A. Diosalan, Faculty Member of the College of Education (COED), Roxas City Main Campus; and Mr. Kenneth C. Siruelo, MNSA, PNVSCA OIC for Policy, Advocacy and Technical Services Division.
Dr. Linan on his message expressed his appreciation on the importance of volunteerism as it can promote and help the current growth of the university and the province. “Rest assured that we will nurture this partnership and implement programs that we will agreed to do in the spirit of volunteerism.”, Dr. Linan said.
Director Gawe on the other hand encouraged the university officials and personnel to do volunteer work so that they can set as a good example to the students. He also expressed his appreciation on the warm hospitality received during their visit in the university.
The PNVSCA is a government agency under the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) mandated by Republic Act No. 9418, also known as the “Volunteer Act of 2007”.
