The Capiz State University (CAPSU) – Sigma Satellite College held the Recollecnic, a recollection and team building activity on October 24-25 at Damires Hills, Janiuay, Iloilo.
The aim of the two-day activity was to strengthen collaboration, communication, and trust among the faculty members and staff, recognize their inspiring contributions to the academe and the community, enhance overall performance and foster a positive work environment
Leading the CAPSU Sigma family in these activities were Dr. Efren L. Linan, SUC President III, Dr. Annalie G. Campos, and Dr. Eimee D. Potato, Officer-in-Charge of the Sigma Satellite College. The first part of the program involved the symbolic initiation of newly hired employees. This gave them the opportunity to feel a sense of belonging and commitment to shared goals and values.
Fr. Robel G. Gicole, the University Chaplain, delivered his words of wisdom about self-love and love for others. He emphasized that building meaningful connections starts with understanding and valuing oneself, which in turn empowers us to extend genuine compassion and support to those around.
University President Dr. Efren L. Linan then swore the employees into the Oath of Dedication, followed by a pinning ceremony, where each employee’s commitment to their role and responsibilities were renewed.
An awarding ceremony of inspiring and dedicated employees was also conducted during the team building activity. Dr. Linan, Dr. Campos, and Dr. Potato handed over the following awards: employees with perfect attendance; employees with perfect attendance in flag ceremony; Bayanihan award; punctuality award; loyalty award; faculty members and staff with good human relations to the community; Distinguished Employee of the Year award; Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year award; and Best Frontline Service award.
Prof. Caressa Lyn Siglos, RPm, head of the Guidance and Counseling Office of the Roxas City Main Campus, facilitated the session on Fostering Relationship Amidst Diversity in the Workplace. Prof. Siglos engaged the participants in the importance of embracing and respecting diverse views and perspectives, fostering mutual respect, and building a harmonious work environment where everyone feels valued and understood.
The last topic was facilitated by Dr. Vizur-Ty C. Gaitano, Director II of the Civil Service Commission Capiz Field Office, who discussed the importance of Fortifying Work Ethics in the Workplace to foster Teamwork. He said that strong work ethics serve as the foundation for effective teamwork, as these encourage accountability, mutual respect, and a collective drive toward achieving shared the University’s shared goals.
The day’s activity was capped by a night of socialization and department presentation that surely strengthened the morale and commitment of the faculty and staff.
