The Capiz State University (CAPSU) held a recognition ceremony for the athletes who participated in the RSCUAA 2024 Sports Festival and Conference held in Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo last December 15-20, 2024. Entitled “Pasidungog Sa Mga Atleta”, the event was held at the Dadivas Auditorium of CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus on January 13, 2025.
Dr. Efren L. Linan, CAPSU SUC President III led the honoring of the athletes together with university key officials, campus administrators and satellite college directors and campus sports coordinators. In his message, the President expressed his salutations and appreciation to the athletes for their hard work. “We hope that this simple celebration of giving back honor to all of you, will encourage you more to train and work hard for the next sports and athletic competitions.”, Dr. Linan said.
The President also thanked the coaches and trainers for their efforts in training and coaching the athletes. He also thanked the other university personnel, from the drivers, cooks, to the medical team, for providing their full support to the athletes during the regional sports fest. Before ending his message, Dr. Linan stated his continued support to the university’s sports and athletics program for the success of CAPSU Stingrays in the future competitions.
Also during the event, Dr. Linan, together with Dr. Annalie G. Campos, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension; and Dr. Eduardo I. Diosalan Jr., University Sports Director, handed various sports equipment to the campus administrators and satellite college directors, as well as the cash incentives to the athletes.
The CAPSU Stingrays secured the second place in the overall ranking of RSCUAA 2024 bringing home 64 gold, 37 silver and 75 bronze medals.
