The University Gender and Development Office conducted a Workshop on Mindfulness, Meditation and Breathwork at the Roxas City Main Campus Auditorium.

The guest facilitator for this workshop was Ms. Mataji Villareal Sharma, an alumna of the Roxas City Main Campus (then CIT Department of Arts and Trades High School Department) and an International School curriculum educator, as well as, artist, and community development advocate.

The three-hour workshop enabled the key officials and personnel of the Central Administration to take respite and learn how the simple but oft-forgotten breathwork and meditation can do wonders in keeping one healthy physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

According to studies, people have been meditating for thousands of years, often as part of a spiritual practice. But in more recent years, mindfulness has become a popular way to help people manage their stress and improve their overall well-being β€” and a wealth of research shows it’s effective. Psychologists have found that mindfulness meditation changes our brain and biology in positive ways, improving mental and physical health.

What a reenergizing way to cap the year!
