To foster well-being and holistic staff development, a two-day series of face-to-face training sessions focused on mental health awareness was conducted for faculty members and non-teaching personnel of Capiz State University (CAPSU) held at Solina Beach and Nature Resort in Carles, Iloilo, on August 21-22.

The event was organized by the Human Resource Development and Training (HRDT) Office in collaboration with the Gender and Development (GAD) Office of the University.

Dr. Hermelisa A. Ochon, Chief Administrative Officer for Administration, warmly welcomed the participants. This was followed by an opening remark from Dr. Wennie F. Legario, Vice President for Administration and Finance. They both emphasized the importance of mental health in achieving both personal and professional growth.

Mr. Christian George F. Acevedo, Director of Publication and Instructional Materials (PIM), offered thought-provoking insights through a story.

Mr. Louie Jay Corros, HRDT staff led the roll call of participants.

Dr. Lucille L. Marquez, GAD Director, introduced the esteemed guest speakers.

The training covered three key topics: Ms. Mataji V. Sharma, MYP Coordinator at Arendal International School in Norway, provided valuable insights on how to cultivate personal well-being; Ms. Caressa Lyn A. Siglos, Guidance Counselor at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus, led a discussion on fostering bridges of understanding with others; and Dr. Ronilo G. Berondo, HRDT Director, facilitated an engaging activity focused on enhancing and developing individual personalities.

Each guest speaker was awarded a certificate for their invaluable contribution to the success of the training.

To further strengthen camaraderie among the participants, a Hawaiian-themed socialization night was held, featuring exciting games, performances, and a variety of awards.

The event concluded with a closing remark from Ms. Myleen C. Abelarde, Supervising Administrative Officer and Human Resource Management Officer, who expressed her gratitude to both the participants and speakers for their active involvement.
