The Capiz State University (CAPSU) recently welcomed a delegation from John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University (JBLFMU) – Arevalo Campus for a two-day benchmarking activity. The visit was held on October 9-10 in the Boardroom of the Central Administration Building at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus, focused on exploring the best practices, initiatives, and programs of CAPSU’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO).
CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan, led the welcoming of the delegation, accompanied by Dr. Wennie F. Legario, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Officer-in-Charge for Research, Development and Extension; Dr. Arnel Van Aleligay, Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Director; Dr. Elmer M. Albaladejo, National Service Training Program (NSTP) Director; Dr. Cherry Anne M. Deang, University Budget Officer; and DRRM and NSTP staff.
Throughout the two-day learning activity, CAPSU’s DRRMO presented a comprehensive roadmap, formalized the partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and conducted ocular and on-site visits to campuses, satellite colleges, and partners agencies across the province.
The JBLFMU-Arevalo delegation is composed of Mr. Robert O. Parcia, JBLFMU-Arevalo Campus Administrator; Dr. Leonora Saul, Integrated Management Representative; Dr. Brian Sarinas, Research Unit Coordinator; Capt. George Aborde, System Safety Officer and Curriculum Developer; 2M Karl Danielle Sira, Disaster Risk Reduction Unit (DRRU) Adviser and Arevalo Unit Safety Officer; 2M Abcede Bangalisan II, DRRU Adviser and Arevalo Unit Board of Discipline.
Additionally, selected maritime students from JBLFMU-Arevalo were also present in the activity.
