The Capiz State University (CAPSU) entered a ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding with Japan Hospitality Learning Center Association (JHLCA) on October 15, 2024 at the Conference Hall of CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Kazutaka Nakao, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of JHLCA and Dr. Efren L. Linan, CAPSU SUC President III. The partnership aims to provide intensive skills training and internship for qualified 4th year students in various industries such as hospitality, food processing, food and beverage, agriculture, solar energy and automotive, in Japan.

Witnessing this important event are the university key officials, external affairs chairpersons from campuses and satellite colleges, and selected 4th year students studying under Engineering, Food Technology and Hotel Management programs.

Dr. Linan advised students to make the best of themselves during their quest for a different learning experience. “The university’s internationalization effort is geared towards widening our learning experience and strengthening our diverse work experience towards competitive labor market, not only locally but also globally.”, Dr. Linan said during his message as he emphasized to the students the importance of this partnership.

Mr. Nakao on his message advised the students to continue learning and expanding their knowledge and skills as overseas employers gave more preference to Filipino workers. He also told the students to not fear the employers as they are willing to work with them and will treat them as equal.

The students in attendance took the opportunity to ask questions about the program with Mr. Nakao, in which the CEO gladly respond. Interested students are invited to submit their application to JHLCA office at Dayao Satellite College. Successful applicants will begin their internships in Japan on January 2025. / via Frederick D.
