The Capiz State University (CAPSU) – Roxas City Main Campus through the Supreme Student Council at both national and local levels, organized the ‘PAGPASIDUNGOG’ program to celebrate CAPSU’s 107th founding anniversary and to honor the remarkable achievements of its students, faculty members, extension partners, retirees, and service awardees who have brought pride to the university and made significant contributions to its success as the only state university in the province of Capiz.
The event had the theme, ‘A Legacy of Excellence, Inspiring Greatness,’ that took place at the Dadivas Gymnasium, CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus, on October 4, 2024.
CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan, represented by Dr. Wennie F. Legario, Vice President for Administration and Finance, delivered a message. In his address, he underscored the pivotal role of educators in shaping not only the minds, hearts, and souls of students but also in contributing to nation-building.
“To every teacher, past and present, your work is seen, valued, and cherished. You are the unsung heroes behind every success story,” Dr. Legario said, emphasizing the profound and innate impact teachers have on shaping lives.
A plaque of recognition was awarded to each retiree and service awardee from the Roxas City Main Campus and Central Administration. Likewise, certificates of recognition were presented to extension partners and distinguished faculty members who earned recognitions and major awards at national and international conferences and competitions.
The CAPSU Main Dance Troupe (CMDT) and CAPSU Main Chorale (CMC) entertained the attendees.
In the afternoon, wellness and healthcare services were made available to the university’s employees. Later this evening, a ‘night of glitz and glamour’ has been organized to create fond memories for all attendees. | via Marco Jeslie B. Tuazon
