Capiz State University President, Dr. Editha C. Alfon, joined the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing among the heads of the founding state universities and colleges (SUCs) of the National Consortium for Small-Scale Fisheries Research and Development or Too-Big-To-Ignore (TBTI) Philippines.

Held on November 21, 2022 at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas – Iloilo City Campus, the MOA Signing was preceded by the release of the sneak peek of the book project on the Profile of Small-Scale Fishers in the Philippines. It was then followed by the launching of the International Conference of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (ICFAS 6) and the Asian Fisheries Social Science Research Network Forum One (AFSSRN F1).

This hybrid event was attended by heads of founding member universities/colleges, various committees, partners, and sponsors to show their support to small-scale fishers whose contributions to food sustainability and aquaculture development in the country are too big to be ignored.
