To further improve the journalistic writing skills, Capiz State University Public Information Office (CAPSU PIO) conducted Journalism Workshop to the Bureau of Fire and Protection Capiz Public Information Officers (BFP Capiz PIOs) at 2nd Floor, PDRRMO Building, Barangay Lanot, Roxas City on February 27.

The program was officially started as Fire Senior Inspector Diosdado P. Hadcan delivered his message and warmly welcomed the guest speakers and BFP Capiz PIOs attendees coming from the different fire stations of the province of Capiz.

Mr. Alex A. Lumaque, Information Center Manager of Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Capiz discussed photojournalism, captioning, and establishing media relations. He then assigned the BFP Capiz PIOs to work on tasks related to his topics.

Mr. Christian George F. Acevedo, CAPSU Public Relations and Publication/Instructional Materials Director talked over on the basic skills for news writing while Mr. Marco Jeslie B. Tuazon, CAPSU Publication Assistant demonstrated on how to create an infographic for public information dissemination. Tasks were given to enhance their newly learned skills related to the topics discussed.

After the submission, presentation, and checking of outputs, Superintendent Jenny Mae C. Masip, Provincial Fire Marshal, BFP Capiz expressed her gratitude to the guest speakers and participants who were able to complete the one-day journalism workshop as she concluded the program.

The activity ended as the BFP Capiz PIOs and key officials sang the BFP Hymn.
