On 11-12 January 2024, the Capiz State University Research, Development and Extension (RDE) and IPMO office, conducted a Strategic Planning and Manual revision held at the Harimuyngan nga Padapunan, San Julian, Tapaz, Capiz to outline possible activities, programs, and targets for the entire year of 2024.

The two days activity were participated by the different Research and Extension Directors and Chairs as well Intellectual Property Management (IPMO) officers from the different campuses of CAPSU.

In his Opening remarks, Dr. Efren L. Linan, Vice-President for RDE, stressed that “…this year’s operational plan is fully underway, building upon the significant accomplishments and progress achieved during the past years …towards strengthening the innovation ecosystem of the University.”

Afterwards, Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, University Research Director, presented the Rationale of the Activity. It was then followed with the breakout sessions wherein the Research, Extension and IPMO conducted their own Strategic/Operational Planning and the revision/updating of their respective manuals. The event was capped with the consolidation and presentation of outputs by the Research, Extension and IPMO groups.

“Strategic planning ensures that we in the Research, Extension and IPMO are making steady progress towards our goals and gaining momentum in creating a brighter future for Capiz State University and the community we are mandated to serve. The challenge to all of us now is to bring our plans to life.” said Prof. Jocelyn Legaspi, Extension Director, in her closing remarks.

The Research, Development and Extension (RDE) and IPMO offices are now ready to operationalize their strategic plans to achieve the University’s strategic goals in research, development, extension and intellectual property management.
