The College of Management (CM) at Capiz State University (CAPSU) reaffirmed its partnership with Robinsons Roxas by signing a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on November 19, 2024, at the mall’s Food Court Area. This event also marked the relaunch of the Entrep Corner, now on its third iteration, a flagship project that showcases the business ventures of fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship (BS Entrep) students.

The ceremony began with a message from Prof. Maricar V. Eyao, BS Entrep Program Chairperson and adviser of Young Entrepreneurs’ Society (YES), conveyed a message on behalf of Dr. Ian B. Arcega, dean of the CM.

“This partnership marks the beginning of an inspiring journey for our new batch of 4th year entrepreneurship students, as today not only signifies the formalization of our continuous collaboration [with Robinsons Roxas] but also the launching of their very own business ventures,” Prof Eyao said, expressing her excitement for the students as they embark on their journey into the real world of business and marketing.

Closing her address, she extended her deep gratitude to the faculty members and mentors who have been instrumental in guiding the students from the very beginning up until to this point of their lives. She also shared a heartfelt advice to the students, “to take all that you have learned, the mentorship you’ve received, and the courage to embrace risks, and turn it into something impactful.”

CAPSU President Efren L. Linan then delivered a message, highlighting that “the activity is not only an experiential learning for our students but this is also an opportunity for them to open their minds on the real world of marketing and retail.”

He added, “This is not only the implementation of your business plan that you have developed in the four corners of your classroom, but this is already the actual implementation of the actual business plan that you have developed.”

“I give thanks to Robinsons Mall for this is already the third cycle of partnership with CAPSU. We cannot do this project, we cannot have this Entrep Corner, without the provision of free space for CAPSU students. Once again, hopefully this would not be the last, but this will only be the start of a strong partnership between Robinsons Mall and CAPSU,” Dr. Linan stated, noting the valuable support of the mall to the students of CAPSU.

Ms. Venice Dela Cruz, Mall Manager spoke on behalf of Ms. Rhoda B. Avelino, Regional Operations Manager.

“We are thrilled to have you with us. This initiative is born from the beliefs that our student entrepreneurs are the backbone of progress and innovation. Through these activities, we hope to spark inspiration and provide the tools and connections you need to thrive. Our team is very open for any ideas that you need, we have different departments that will help you out,” Ms. Dela Cruz said, expressing that the mall is ever-ready to extend help.

The MOA was made between CAPSU and Robinsons Roxas; CAPSU was represented by Dr. Efren L. Linan, SUC President III, together with Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, Officer-in-Charge of Research, Development, and Extension (RDE), Prof. French A. Dampog, CAPSU-IPMO Chief of Knowledge and Technology Transfer Division (KTTD), and Prof. Maricar V. Eyao while the Robinsons Roxas was represented by Ms. Venice Dela Cruz and Ms. Rhoda B. Avelino.

Adding a unique touch to the event, the official sound track of YES, originally composed by Romeo D. Frejoles, Aishley Lareza, and Danica Shaun Agana, was played at the event.

The event concluded with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the Entrep Corner to the public.
