Dr. Edtha C. Alfon, together with University key officials, welcomed four Japanese delegates from Satsuma-chō district, Kagoshima Prefecture on April 16.
The Japanese delegation was composed of Mr. Nakao Kazutaka, Chief Executive Officer of Japan Hospitality Learning Center Association (JHLCA); Mr. Yoshihiro Yamaguchi, Chief of the Agriculture and Forestry Division of the said district; Mr. Furuta Masaya, Chairperson of the Satsuma-chō Town Council; and Mr. Koki Kajiya, owner of an agricultural farm in Japan.
A meeting between the CAPSU key officials and the Japanese guests was held at the University Board Room in the Roxas City Main Campus, where the possibilities of partnerships and international mobility of students and graduates were discussed.
Prior to discussing their agenda, the Japanese delegation paid a courtesy call to the President’s Office.
During the said meeting between CAPSU key officials and the Japanese delegation, both parties discussed and anticipated future collaboration where CAPSU might send agriculture students to Japan to be able to gain international job experience in the field of agriculture and be hired afterwards.
Present also during the said meeting were Dr. Wennie F. Legario, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Susan O. Dangan, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Efren L. Linan, Vice President for Research, Development and Extension; Dr. Honey Lee E. Casa, CAPSU Pontevedra Campus Administrator; Dr. Rodyard B. Madiclum, CAPSU Burias Campus Administrator; Dr. Jennifer P. Benliro, CAPSU Pilar Satellite Director; Dr. Arlene Gonzales, CAPSU Tapaz Satellite College Director; and External Affairs and Linkages Chairpersons of the said campuses and satellite colleges.
The Japanese guests then proceeded to the Roxas City Hall where City Councilor Hon. Victor Federico “Pip” Acepcion, a member of CAPSU Board of Regents, represented Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas in welcoming the Japanese delegates where he expressed his profound joy to them for visiting the Roxas City government and hoped for future partnership.
