With the ever-increasing need for quality photos for the promotion of the products of our Acceleratees, the Capiz State University – Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (CAPSU-ATBI) conducted the Training Workshop on the Basics of Camera Use and Theory on February 9, 2023. The term Acceleratees refers to the graduates of the basic incubation of the CAPSU-ATBI. The activity was one of the outputs during the module development aimed at amplifying the skillsets of our acceleratees.

The activity specifically aimed to capacitate the CAPSULE Acceleratees with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively use a camera for their products to promote their businesses. Mr. Rector John A. Latoza, University Research Associate II and invited resource speaker, emphasized the importance of photography in improving the visual appeal of their products and services. Next, he discussed the theory of photography, learning about lighting, composition, and the different types of cameras and lenses available. He also tackled the exposure triangle, a fundamental concept in photography that describes the relationship between shutter speed, aperture, and ISO and how adjusting these settings affects the final image. He also said that developing a good eye for photography requires time and constant practice.

The Acceleratees put into practice what they learned by taking photos of their products themselves. They now know how to adjust settings, compose shots, and take pictures in various lighting conditions.

In conclusion, the training successfully provided participants with the knowledge and skills to take their businesses to the next level by practicing the basics of photography. The workshop serves as an example of the ongoing commitment of the CAPSU-ATBI to support and empower its incubatees and acceleratees to help them achieve their full potential.
