Four Student Affairs and Services (SAS) researchers from Capiz State University (CAPSU) Roxas City Main Campus and Sigma Satellite College recently participated in the Philippine Association of Practitioners of Student Affairs and Services (PAPSAS) Research Conference with the theme, “SAS Practitioners Embracing the Culture of Research,” held at The Royal Mandaya Hotel in Davao City, June 21 to 23, 2023.
Dr. Eimee D. Potato, Office of the Student Affairs (OSA) Chairperson; Dr. Emmanuel D. Dayalo, Student Organizations and Activities (SOA) Coordinator from CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus and Dr. Reynaldo G. Peralta, Student Affairs and Services (SAS) Chairperson; and Prof. Joy N. Alejaga, Supreme Student Council (SSC) – Sigma Adviser from CAPSU Sigma Satellite College were invited by PAPSAS to present their research paper.
During the conference, Dr. Potato and Dr. Dayalo had the opportunity to present their research paper titled “Gawad Kalinga: An Assessment of the Community Extension Program”, under the sub-theme of Student Engagement in Campus Activities.
Their presentation shed light on the various ways in which CAPSU engages students in community service and volunteer work. Dr. Potato and Dr. Dayalo underscored the impact of the Gawad Kalinga program in fostering a sense of social responsibility among CAPSU students and its contribution to the overall development of the community.
The PAPSAS Research Conference served as a platform for networking, collaboration, and learning. The event fostered a sense of community among SAS practitioners, scholars, and researchers, paving the way for future collaborations and advancements in the field.
