Four CAPSUnian student leaders and school paper writers bagged top awards in the 61st National Rizal Youth Leadership Institute (NYRLI) held at the Teachers’ Camp in Baguio City last December 7-10.
The four-day event had the theme Rizalian Values: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow wherein a total of 589 delegates from across the country actively attended and participated.
Mary Rose Antonin, Supreme Student Council (SSC) President at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus won 3rd place in Oratorical Competition; John Oliver Bigas, Bachelor of Industrial Technology (BIT) Governor at CAPSU Main Roxas City Main Campus clinched the 1st place in Sayawit Competition; Kin F. Sabala, SSC President and The Courier Publication Literary Editor at CAPSU Mambusao (Poblacion) Satellite College bagged 2nd place in Feature Writing; and Catherine V. Adaniel, Capsunian Echo Publication Editor-in-Chief at CAPSU Burias Campus sealed 2nd place in on-the-spot Essay Writing contest.
Other than the winners, Ervi Kile Bulquerin, College of Education (COED) Governor; Ellen Rose L. Aulmo, College of Management (CM) Governor; and Vince D. Alinsog, College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) Governor; Michala Grace Arellano, Elyana Pauline Aniero, and Camille Ann Dicon, Future Leaders of the Philippines (FLP) Officers, all from CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus were also present and participated in various competitions in the said event.
They were accompanied and mentored by Dr. Emmanuel Dayalo, CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus Student Organization and Activities (SOA) Coordinator; Prof. Raze Messiah A. Berebe, FLP Faculty in charge; Prof. Raymond Silves, Capsunian Echo Publication Adviser; and Prof. Freden Delgado, The Courier Publication Adviser.
The NRYLI is an annual conference and the institutionalized leadership training program of The Knights of Rizal that aims to instill in the minds and hearts of young Filipino leaders the principles of Rizalian leadership, character development, and socio-cultural awareness — all of which are critical to becoming productive and responsible members of society.
