CAPSU President Dr. Efren L. Linan continued his campus and satellite college tour on October 4, 2024 with visits in Dumarao and Tapaz Satellite Colleges. These series of visits aimed to present the newly installed President’s vision, mission, agenda and plans to the University stakeholders.

At Dumarao Satellite College, Dr. Marie Jean P. Penson, Satellite College Director, led the welcoming of Dr. Linan together with the faculty, staff and students. Also in attendance was Hon. Florencio F. Farinas, Jr., the Municipal Administrator of Dumarao, representing Municipal Mayor Atty. Matt Hachuela.

“We are excited to have you joined our community and we look forward to the journey ahead. Let us embrace this opportunity to build a brighter future for our university and the generations of students yet to come.”, Dr. Penson said during her opening remarks.

Hon. Farinas delivered the message on behalf of Mayor Hachuela. “Under your leadership Mr. President, Dr. Linan, we are excited to see new ideas and initiatives that will come to life, and that will further enhance both the university and our community in Dumarao,” Hon. Farinas stated as the office of the Municipal Mayor looks forward to partnering with the university on endeavors that promote education, sustainability and inclusivity.

After Dumarao Satellite College, Dr. Linan visited Tapaz Satellite College where the President was given a traditional ceremonial welcome performed by the members of the Panay Bukidnon Community. Satellite College Director Dr. Arlene C. Gonzales expressed her appreciation to Dr. Linan for visiting their college.

“With his leadership, mission and vision, Dr. Linan will inspire all of us to strive better and embrace all new opportunities that will bring transformation to CAPSU Tapaz Satellite College,” Dr. Gonzales said on her welcoming remarks.

Aside from the faculty, staff and students, other dignitaries also joined in welcoming the Dr. Linan which include Hon. Rafe D. Laluma, Board Member and Indigenous People Mandatory Representative of the Province of Capiz; Hon. Stephen Faeldin, Municipal Information Officer on behalf of Hon. Roberto O. Palomar, Municipal Mayor of Tapaz; and Hon. Joemar Fabayes, Brgy. Captain of San Julian and its council members.

Hon. Faeldin delivered the message on behalf of Mayor Palomar. “The recent installation of Dr. Efren L. Linan as President symbolizes a new beginning for Capiz State University. The Office of the Municipal Mayor is confident that under your new leadership, the institution will soar into greater heights. May your leadership inspire not only academic excellence but also a deeper sense of community, collaboration and innovation,” stated by Mr. Faeldin.

Dr. Linan expressed his appreciation to the satellite colleges for their warm and unique way of welcoming him and the university officials. The President also emphasized the important role of the students because as the direct beneficiaries and most important partner of the university in achieving its goals. Dr. Linan also took the opportunity to greet all the faculty members on the occasion of International Teachers’ Day celebration.

Other university key officials who joined Dr. Linan in his visit included Dr. Susan O. Dangan, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages; Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar; OIC for Research, Development and Extension; Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, University Business Affairs Director; Dr. Arnel Van V. Aleligay, DRRM Director; and Dr. Mary Jean L. Arroyo, Board Secretary V.
