The Capiz State University (CAPSU) welcomed the technical team from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for a meeting to discuss the implementation of the KALAHI-CIDSS program in the Office of the University President at CAPSU Central Administration Building on May 29.
The visit primarily aimed to plan out the smooth and effective implementation of the “Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS)” as one of the DSWD’s anti-poverty programs that works through a localized and participatory process in marginalized and vulnerable sectors and communities by providing comprehensive support services to college students or graduates.
The said program is set to begin from June until September 2024.
CAPSU President Dr. Editha C. Alfon was represented by Dr. Wennie F. Legario, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Mrs. Hermelisa A. Ochon, Chief Administrative Officer (Administration); and Mrs. Lynette A. Figarola, Chief Administrative Officer (Finance); Dr. Ian B. Arcega, Student Affairs and Services Director.
The DSWD technical team was composed of Ms. Candyd Loraine Patino, Social Worker Officer III/Cash For Work Program (CFWP) Focal Visayas Cluster; Ms. Ma. Jenell Canonigo, Social Worker Officer II; Atty. Jayson Howard Chan, Provincial Development Officer IV from the National Project Management Office (NPMO); and Ms. Elna L. Academia, Social Worker Officer III/CFWP Focal DSWD Region VI from the Regional Project Management Office (RPMO).
