Capiz State University (CAPSU) feted the arrival of the 12 SEA-Teacher Students from Indonesia who are set to have their international practicum here to be assigned in some secondary public schools in the province of Capiz held at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus Dadivas Gymnasium today.

Before the program formally began, the Panay Bukidnon Elders and CAPSU Tapaz Satellite College Indigenous People (IP) students performed a welcome dance to the attendees then proceeded to the processional of entrance of colors, key officials, guests, SEA Teacher Student participants, university directors, different campus administrators and college directors, deans, and faculty and staff.

The CAPSU Main Chorale under the baton of Dr. Vivian B. Apuang led the singing of the national anthem of the Philippines and Indonesia while Mr. Aulia Izha Cahya, SEA-Teacher Student participant from Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi, Indonesia offered a Muslim prayer.

Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino, Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages firstly acknowledged the presence of the attendees before she delivered a message thanking them for coming over and for joining in celebrating the advent of the SEA-Teacher Student participants as they embark their meaningful academic journey here in CAPSU.

In her speech she mentioned and highlighted the mandates of her office outlining the significance of international internship and its commitment towards internationalization. “Today, ladies and gentlemen, marks an important event in the history of Capiz State University because for the very first time, post pandemic, we will be hosting again the 9th batch of the SEA-Teacher Program, the 12 exchange student interns from 4 big universities in Indonesia who were entrusted by the respective universities to our care through the SEA-Teacher Project,” proudly announced by Dr. Martelino.

In addition, Dr. Martelino elaborated the SEA-Teacher Program and underscored the number of CAPSUnians who were sent abroad for international internship and unveiled forthcoming activities under her domain.

Dr. Editha C. Alfon, SUC President III then took the podium and extended her profound gratitude and warm welcome to each and every one who were present in the activity. She individually mentioned the names of the individuals who hold significant roles in making the event a successful one – from the Office of the Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages (OVPEAL) to the various persons of the Department of Education (DEPED), Roxas City and Capiz Division.

Addressing the 12 SEA-Teacher Student interns, “We admire your courage in seeking out knowledge, learning new cultures, and absorbing best practices in education which you may use to enhance your skills in your future profession. Your dedication to becoming world class educator is truly remarkable!” with enthusiasm said by Dr. Alfon.

After hearing some inspirational messages, the CAPSU Briefer was presented through audio-visual presentation and for the second time, the Panay Bukidnon Elders together with CAPSU Tapaz IP students showcased on stage the IP ceremonial dance.

Hon. James “Mitang” Magbanua, Vice Governor of the province of Capiz, on behalf of Governor Fredenil “Oto” H. Castro and Ms. Cheryl Anne del Rosario, Ang Panublion Museum Director, on behalf of Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas conveyed their messages to the attendees. An audio-visual presentation about Capiz was shown on screen to conclude their part.

Dr. Marien A. Laureto, International and National Affairs Director was the one who introduced the SEA-Teacher 9th batch participants.

The attendees were entertained by the CAPSU Main Chorale with their winning piece during the 12th World Choir Games 2023 in Gangneung, South Korea.

Dr. Miguel Mac. D. Aposin, CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent of Capiz and Dr. Virginia Alaban, Principal of President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial School – SPED imparted their messages to the attendees. Both expressed their sincere gratitude to CAPSU for producing excellent teachers in the field of education.

A response message was done by Mr. Devin Akbar Albany, SEA-Teacher Student participant from Sriwijaya University, Indonesia. In behalf of the other SEA-Teacher Student participants, he earnestly expressed his gratitude to CAPSU.

The program culminated as Dr. Susan O. Dangan, Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered her closing message to conclude the program.

While the attendees were having their meal, they were once again entertained by the CAPSU Main Chorale and CAPSU Main Dance Troupe, under the facilitation of Prof. Polansky Pinky A. Barrientos, Socio-Cultural Affairs Director.

  4. Ahmad Sapta Seno Permadi, BSED-English, from Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi to be assigned at CAPSU Dayao Satellite College.
  5. Annisa Nur Ramadhani, English Education, from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan to be assigned at CAPSU Pilar Satellite College.
  6. Rania Khairunnisak, Elementary Education, from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan to be assigned at CAPSU Pontevedra Campus.
  7. Muhammad Farhan Algifariz, English Education, from Universitas Muhammadiyah Porwokerto to be assigned at CAPSU Dumarao Satellite College.
  8. Nur Salwa Nisrina, Biology Education, from Sriwijaya University to be assigned at CAPSU Burias Campus.
  9. Panisyah Nasyro Janna Erpapalemlah, English Education, from Sriwijaya University to be assigned at CAPSU Burias Campus.
