Four teams consisting of seven Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) students from the College of Education (CoEd) at Capiz State University (CAPSU) – Roxas City Main Campus were recognized for their innovative business concepts. They bagged the Best Business Model Canvas during the 2024 Provincial Agri-Fishery Achievers Awards, an awarding ceremony which celebrates the top 10 young agripreneurs of the Agri-Fishery Innovation Challenge.
The event was organized by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) of Capiz and held on December 6 at the Session Hall of the Capiz Provincial Capitol in Roxas City.
Here are the awardees and their innovative business model pitches: Mark Globen Barotilla and Trishia Angela Magcanam (MushGrow); Jackielyn Valderama and Reynan John Funa (Flavored Kalabasa Chips); Kian Carl Arancillo (Heritage ZGen Farm); and Rufy Kyle Carlo Borreros and John Vincent Manalo (BioCorn Roxas). They were guided and mentored by Dr. Mary Ann D. Cervas, BTLED program chairperson, and Mr. Michael Vincent Barrera, a faculty member of the same college and campus.
Present also at the awarding ceremony was Dr. Cleo Jude A. Joaquin, CAPSU Roxas City Main Focal Person.
