The Capiz State University was the result of converting the former Panay State Polytechnic College which were basically established as an agricultural and fishery school.  Two years after the devastation of Super Typhoon “Yolanda” the Income Generating Projects (IGP) of Capiz State University was not very productive.  Agricultural productions are expected to recover five years later under normal conditions.  However, with the current conditions of climate change, it will deter the fast recovery of agricultural products.

The income generating projects of the university are expected to augment the meager budget for operation.  However, with its present condition, it could not be relied upon to provide an augmentation to the operation of the university.  Specifically, the university is investing some resources to income generating projects to different campuses.

The University Printing House

The university printing house is one of the income generating projects that operate to cater the printing needs of the campuses.  The service provided by the printing house is exclusive for the university printing jobs. Thus, the charging is very minimal provided to the clientele (campuses) just to cover the cost of materials and labor for reproduction.

The operation is being managed by the university central administration and with one permanent personnel and assisted by three (3) job contract personnel.  In later part of the year, the university acquired a brand new digital printing machine in order to facilitate the required printing works of the university.

The Roxas City (Main) Campus

The Roxas City (Main) Campus is an industrial technology school in its mandate and priority programs.  It is based in the heart of the city and very limited area whereby the land area are occupied by school buildings.

However, with its desire to earn additional income through IGP thus, the campus maximize the area by establishing some business stalls for rental purposes.  Currently, there are several tenants occupying the business stalls with different nature of business provided.  It does not only provide an additional income to the campus but also a great help for the students and university personnel.  

The Burias Campus

In CapSU-Burias Campus having a large vast of land (150.9823) for agricultural production, they invested in Coconut production as an income generating project and at the same time a research plantation.

Coco Seednut production is the primary source of income specifically on dwarf variety and copra meat for tall varieties.  The plantation comprises of 54 varieties and 61 tall varieties 10 accession coming the Philippine Coconut Authority.

The project started as a collaborative project and known as Coconut Breeding Trials Unit (CBTU) of PSPC and PCA.

Another investment project in the campus is the rice production. It comprises of 10 hectares and dependent to rainfall, thus production is unpredictable.  Some areas are also used for research and for instructional purposes. 

The campus is preparing for investments in poultry other livestock production as IGP and the same time an instructional project for the College of Agriculture.

The Pontevedra Campus

The Pontevedra Campus is another operating unit of the university with a wide area of land for both fishery and agricultural production.  The campus has a total land area 147.5936 hectares.  

The development of production unit of Pontevedra Campus is on-going with 60 hectares of Fishpond; 5.28 hectares of 11.85 for Sugarcane and other productive areas are used for instructional purposes and as well as for researches.

The Dayao Campus

The Dayao Campus were established as the Fishery Department during the creation of Capiz Institute of Technology (CIT) and remain as  fishery department when it was integrated to Capiz State University.

It has a land area of 11.9818 hectares with seven (7) hectares comprises as fishpond with only around four (4) hectares were occupied by buildings and other facilities.  Currently, the portion of the area is being used for trial in organic bangus production.

The Sigma Campus

The Sigma Campus were established as Science and Technology College before its integration to Capiz State University.  Now it has expanded its program offering to Hotel and Restaurant and Tourism Management.

The campus has established an entrepreneurial stall for business occupancy.  It was rented by the clientele from the community for business purposes and this serve as an IGP of the campus.
