The CAPSU Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) organized and hosted an appreciation program dubbed as PAGTAMOD on July 29, in celebration of the 36th National Disaster Resilience Month 2024.
The event took place at the CAPSU Central Administration Boardroom and honored the contributions of advocates, DRRM practitioners, and volunteers who have collaborated with the DRRMO on various programs and initiatives.
The program recognized the campus administrators and satellite college directors, DRRM and NSTP directors and coordinators, Incident Management Teams (IMTs), and DRRM and NSTP support and administrative staff from CAPSU’s three campuses and six satellite colleges.
CAPSU President Dr. Editha C. Alfon opened the program by commending the DRRMO’s efforts and urging the team to prepare documents for the upcoming Gawad KALASAG Excellence Awards submission. She praised the said office for their continuous dedication and hard work.
Dr. Arnel Van V. Aleligay, DRRM Director, reflected on the office’s humble beginnings and shared personal anecdotes about the challenges faced and achievements earned by the DRRMO. He expressed his gratitude to Dr. Alfon for her unwavering support.
Atty. Sheila A. Artillero, Capiz Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer, graced the activity as the guest speaker. In her message, Atty. Artillero lauded the CAPSU-DRRMO’s readiness to assist the provincial government in conducting disaster preparedness seminars, training sessions, and workshops. She also congratulated the awardees and encouraged the DRRM practitioners to embrace both challenges and opportunities to make a significant difference.
The event concluded with a closing message from Dr. Susan O. Dangan, Vice President for Academic Affairs. She commended Dr. Aleligay’s commitment and professionalism, highlighting his resilience in the face of numerous challenges.
