To recognize the people behind the Resilient, Innovative, and Sustainable Enterprises (RISE) project, one of the notable community-based projects of Capiz State University, the Fisheries and Food Research Development Center (FFRDC) held a closing activity through its Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) program, which took place at the covered gymnasium of Brgy. Navitas, Panay, Capiz, July 12.

Dr. Stephanie S. Pimentel, RISE Project Leader; Mr. Ryan Vilmor J. Dumpit, Assistant Provincial Science and Technology Director of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Capiz; and Dr. Leo Andrew B. Biclar, University Research Director, delivered their speeches expressing profound gratitude to the attendees and diligent stakeholders of the project RISE.

The closing activity featured an open forum where Hon. Vicente Regalado, Barangay Captain of Brgy. Navitas, and Ms. Ma. Geline B. Regalado, President of the Women’s Association, highlighted their personal experiences and insights. They were each given certificate of recognition for their invaluable support and contribution to the overall success of the project.

Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials about the RISE project were distributed to enhance the community’s ability to utilize the knowledge and skills obtained.

Present also in the said activity were Dr. Harold O. Buenvenida, Faculty-In-Charge of the Capiz Ecology Center at CAPSU Pontevedra Campus; Ms. Marvie L. Villanueva, CAPSU-DRRMO IEC Advocacy Section Chief; Mr. Ben Francis A. Osias, CAPSU-DRRM and NSTP Coordinator at Burias Campus; and Ms. Precious D. Launio, CAPSU Burias Campus Nurse.

The said ceremony celebrated the project’s successes and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting resilient, innovative, and sustainable community enterprises through science and technology.
