The Capiz State University (CAPSU) community congratulates the following CAPSUnians who won top awards at the College Press Conference and Awards (COPRE) 2024, held at Iloilo Grand Hotel, Iloilo City, on November 28, 2024.

Dr. John Paul L. Araneta, publication adviser of the CapSU FORUM, the official student publication of CAPSU Pontevedra Campus, received this year’s Best Performing School Paper Adviser award and was inducted into the Hall of Fame for the same distinction.

Kynt Mark Briñosa, photojournalist of Pundar Publication, the official student publication of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus, secured 2nd place in Photojournalism (Filipino).

Jude Patrick R. Delfin, editorial assistant of CapSU FORUM, earned 3rd place in Copyreading and Headlining (English).

Ryan Kyle Muit, reportorial staff of The Ledger, the official student publication of the College of Management (CM) at CAPSU Roxas City Main Campus, achieved 3rd place in Copyreading and Headlining (Filipino).

James Andrei Leonida, layout artist of Pundar Publication, bagged 4th place in Copyreading and Headlining (Filipino).

Kin F. Sabala, editor-in-chief of The Courier publication, the official student publication of CAPSU Mambusao Satellite College, claimed 5th place in Feature Writing (English).

COPRE is an annual journalism competition organized by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) VI. This year’s theme, “Bagong Pilipinas: New Breed of Developmental Communicators,” brought together student journalists from various state universities and colleges across the Western Visayas region to compete in different on-the-spot journalism contests.
