The VP for Administration and Finance serves as deputy of the President and performs function in the absence of the latter. Exercises general supervision of all administrative and support service personnel. Assists the President in developing plans and programs in coordination with other administrative officers. Assists the President in identifying priority thrusts and initiates, proposes, implements plans, programs and projects for development.
The VPAF’s functions include :
- Recommends to the President the allocation of funds in coordination with the Chief Administrative Officer – Finance;
- Ascertains actual expenditure in accordance with authorized appropriation; and
- Perform other duties the President may assign.
Dr. Mary Ann Botin-Martelino is a lover of education who never misses trying new things. She even took up Radio Operator Training Course at Panay State Polytechnic College, Burias Mambusao, Capiz and graduated with distinct honor from the same institution with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education. In 1981, she passed the Professional Board Examination for Teachers and Civil Service Professional Examination, and began teaching in 1983. Striving for excellence, she pursued her graduate studies at West Visayas State University with the degree of Master in Agriculture. She never faltered and continued to engage in professional growth that made her finished her Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Sciences at De La Salle Araneta University (formerly Gregorio Araneta University Foundation), Malabon, Metro Manila.
Her expertise and commitment were recognized many times. In 1995, she was designated as the Associate Director of the Research Institute, an avenue that led her to share her love for research. She was seen as a woman of authority and leadership which made her the Chairman of the College of Agriculture and Forestry Department for two (2) years. She became a Director of the Office of the Student Services giving her the chance to provide opportunities to many students. She was able to help students reach their full potential and reach their goals despite the unpredictable waves of life.
Her dedication towards her work and to her students has been shown in her massive efforts. She has been appointed as Campus Administrator of Capiz State University- Burias for six (6) years from 2005 to 2011. Her administration was a realization of her vision in motivating the students, faculty, and staff to perform at their best and bring Capiz State University, Burias Campus to the top.
After her term as the Campus Administrator, she was designated as the Chairman of Doctor of Philosophy of the Agriculture Department. From 2012-2015, she once again became the Chair of the Office of the Student Affairs continuing her services to accommodate deserving students and bringing them to achieve success. Moreover, she also worked as Chair of Organic Poultry Production. In 2016, she returned as the Campus Administrator of Burias Campus cultivating a harmonious and fastidious work environment within the campus. And in 2017, she became the Director of the Office of the Student Affairs.
Prior to her appointment as VPAF, she was the Vice President for External Affairs and Linkages where she unlocked doors for faculty, staff and students to experience, collaborate and have more partnerships in other countries and industries/stakeholders.
